The GFS Home Garden Project

The Girls’ Friendly Society conducts the Home Garden Project at its upcountry branches as part of its efforts to uplift communities and support the welfare of women. This project encourages women and families to develop home gardens that contribute to their daily needs, overall well-being, and provide an additional source of income through the sale of surplus produce.

Through this initiative, plants are distributed to community members, and follow-up visits are carried out to monitor progress and provide encouragement. These visits help strengthen relationships with the community and ensure that the project continues in a meaningful and practical manner.

The participants have responded with great enthusiasm and appreciation. They regularly share updates on the progress of their home gardens, reflecting their commitment and satisfaction with the project. The Home Garden Project has brought visible joy and motivation to the communities involved.

The Home Garden Project reflects the Girls’ Friendly Society’s continued commitment to supporting women, strengthening families, and promoting positive practices at the community level.
